What glass thickness ranges, machining tolerances, and tempering methods are available?

Time:2026-09-10

A:

* Thickness Range: Ultra-thin substrates from 0.33mm, 0.55mm, 0.7mm, and 1.1mm (ideal for handheld devices and touch sensors) up to 2.0mm, 3.0mm, and 12mm+ (for heavy-duty industrial HMI and furnace viewports).

* CNC Machining & Edge Profiles: Tight dimensional tolerances down to ±0.05 mm. Edge profiles include flat ground edges, pencil/C-shape polished edges, 2.5D bevels, chamfers, stepped/rabbeted edges, and custom internal cutouts or countersunk holes.

* Tempering & Strengthening:

* Chemical Strengthening (Ion Exchange): Recommended for thin glass (< 2.0 mm), non-standard shapes, and quartz/borosilicate substrates to maintain zero optical distortion while multiplying mechanical surface compression.

* Thermal Tempering: Available for glass thicknesses >= 3.0 mm, compliant with EN 12150 safety shatter standards.
